In 2007, Erick Veil opened his first business with the help of his wife, Lauren, before the age of 35. He had always been independant and outgoing. After developing a sound foundation of knowlege about how the industry he worked in operated, he made the leap to build a custom frame shop from the ground up.
Coventry Gallery and Framing served Midtown Sacramento with professional picture framing, and localy created art. A strong supporter of the local community and art scene, there were grand events every Second saturday, the traditional time of each month for the Art Walk. There could be found live music from locak talent, a craft table for children, snacks, and an all around pleasant atmosphere where one could go to enjoy the art and community of that developing art scene.
The custom picture framing was of the highest quality. Archival framing was available, as well as more affordable options-- there was never any pressure to buy something you didn't need, and every piece was unique and beautiful. Not a single customer was dissapointed. Erick made personally sure that each piece was well crafted. He and Lauren completed all of the work themselves in the openly visible workshop within the gallery, and even invited customers to see how the task was performed.
A waning economy forced Coventry to close in Deceber of 2008. In just that year of operation, the gallery had won recognition as one of the best frame shops in sacramento. Despite the closure, Erick still designs and builds wonderful custom frames and is available for private appointment.
